Welcome to our live coverage for the 2026 United States Grand Prix from the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Could the day be today? Kimi Antonelli can become the youngest Formula One world champion in history of he wins and other results fall his way.

He has started the weekend well by securing pole position yesterday, but it still looks like an outside chance for him to do clinch it. What does he need to do? Win.

If he does not win he cannot build up the points buffer to be crowned today. If he does win, then George Russell needs to finish ninth or lower and Lewis Hamilton finishing fifth or lower. Russell starts today’s race in sixth whilst Hamilton is fifth.

Generally the Mercedes and the Ferrari cars are good enough to finish in the top six, so you would expect something unusual to happen to the two Britons for Antonelli to have something big to celebrate. Mind you, something unfortunate has not been that unusual for Russell this season.

In any case, what does it matter? Antonelli is cruising to the title and his performance in qualifying showed why that has been the case. Ferrari looked to be the pace-setters all weekend but when push came to shove in Q3 they dropped away and it was the young Italian who found the lap time when it mattered.

It’s good news for Mercedes’ upgrades, though team principal Toto Wolff said the car is still “on the edge” when it comes to getting the best from it. It’s just that Antonelli is capable of doing that with regularity. The racing here is usually entertaining, so let’s hope for a close and interesting race.

It all begins at 8pm GMT and we will be here for the live updates and latest from the Circuit of the Americas.
